Chapter 10 - Emily Refuses Daniel’s Easy Solution
Daniel wanted to transfer money to Emily immediately.
She refused.
“I don’t want a check.”
“It’s yours.”
“Maybe.”
“It is.”
“No. The documents need review.”
Daniel looked frustrated.
Emily continued.
“Dad spent years deciding things for both of us.”
Daniel went still.
“He hid me.”
“I know.”
“He left you a company and left me paperwork nobody explained.”
“I know.”
“I’m not letting you fix that by deciding what I should take.”
Daniel sat down.
Emily softened.
“I want the records examined. I want the trust corrected if it’s valid.
And I want my own lawyer.”
Daniel nodded.
“You should.”
This was the beginning of a different kind of sibling relationship.
Not Daniel rescuing Emily.
