Audrey read it slowly.
Lenora didn't defend herself.

She admitted jealousy.
Fear.
Control.
She admitted she had viewed Audrey as a threat long before Audrey understood why.
Audrey folded the letter.
“Do you believe her?”
Grant stared toward the backyard where Caleb was beginning to crawl across a blanket.
“I believe she finally understands what she lost.”
“That isn't the same as changing.”
“No.”
Grant took Audrey's hand.
“It isn't.”
They decided Lenora could eventually see Caleb.
