Chapter 8 - Thirty-Two Million Missing DollarsThe forensic audit produced its first results.

The theft had not stopped after Daniel died.
It had grown.
Thirty-two million had become fifty-seven million.
Malcolm's shell companies were still operating.
But there was another discovery.
Richard had signed several approvals.
Corbin confronted his father.
Richard finally confessed.
He knew Malcolm was stealing.
But he claimed he never knew about Daniel's death.
“I covered financial transactions,” Richard admitted.
“Why?”
“Your grandmother was sick. The company was unstable. Malcolm threatened to expose things that could destroy us.”
“So you protected him.”
“I protected the Stanford name.”
Corbin's expression hardened.
“A name isn't worth protecting when innocent people are paying for it.”
