Chapter 12 - THE DAUGHTER OF THE MONSTERNoah expected Rebecca Voss to be another enemy.

Instead, she arrived voluntarily.

Fifty years old.

Calm.

Exhausted.

Carrying two encrypted drives.

“My father was a monster,” she said.

Nobody argued.

Rebecca had discovered the twin program while completing her doctorate.

At first, she believed it had ended decades earlier.

Then she found evidence that Malcolm Voss had kept it alive.

She began secretly helping Claire.

Claire became her source.

Rebecca became Claire's access point inside Harlow.

Together they copied files.

Redirected surveillance.

Protected subjects.

And sabotaged the program from within.

Noah didn't trust her.

“You're asking me to believe a Voss helped my mother?”

“No.”

Rebecca pushed the drives across the table.

“I'm asking you to verify it.”

Shaw did.

The evidence was authentic.

But Rebecca warned them that exposing Harlow would trigger something called Continuity.

“What is Continuity?”

Rebecca looked at Noah.

“A protocol for destroying the remaining biological archive.”

“That sounds good.”

“It would be.”

She paused.

“If the archive only contained data.”

May you like

It didn't.

It contained people.
