Chapter 10 - I Walked Out Without HimThree weeks after the crash, I finally left the hospital.

Noah waited downstairs.

Rachel arrived carrying coffee.
Outside, rain had stopped.
For the first time in weeks, Seattle had blue sky.
I expected Luca to appear.
He didn’t.
I was grateful.

Reporters waited beyond the hospital property.
I ignored them.
No statement.
No performance.
No revenge speech.
I simply got into Noah’s car.
We drove toward Queen Anne.
When we reached my house, I discovered Luca’s belongings had already been removed under the temporary court order.
The rooms felt enormous.
Empty.
Quiet.

Seven years had vanished into cardboard boxes.
Then I opened the curtains.
Sunlight flooded the room.
