Luca stared at the table.
Nobody laughed.
The symbolism was too painful.
Rachel then opened a separate letter Arthur had written to him.
Luca read it privately.
When he emerged twenty minutes later, his eyes were red.
He handed the dollar to Kelly.
“Keep it.”
She refused.
“No.”
He looked surprised.
“Grandpa gave it to you.”
Her voice softened.
“So figure out what it's worth.”
