Chapter 19 - THE VISITORA black sedan stood at the edge of the property.
An unfamiliar woman stepped out.
She looked to be in her sixties.
Elegant.
Calm.
She carried a leather case.
Evelyn saw her through the window.
Her face changed.
“Who is that?”
The woman walked toward the house.
She stopped at the front door.
Knocked once.
Evelyn opened it.
The woman smiled.
“Evelyn Calder.”
“Yes?”
“My name is Rebecca Vale.”
Silence.
Daniel stepped forward.
“Vale?”
Rebecca nodded.
“Marcus's sister.”
Everyone froze.
She lifted the leather case.
“I didn't come here for revenge.”
She opened it.
Inside was a stack of documents.
“I came because Marcus wasn't working alone.”
Evelyn's hands began to tremble.
