Chapter 6 - THE CAR IN THE RAINBy morning, the police found tire tracks near the garden gate.
Someone had entered the property during the night.
No forced entry.
No broken windows.
Whoever came had a key.
Diane disappeared before sunrise.
Daniel found her car abandoned two miles from the estate.
Her phone was inside.
Her purse was on the passenger seat.
But Diane was gone.
Lily stood beside the vehicle.
“She didn't leave willingly.”
Daniel looked at her.
“How do you know?”
“Because Aunt Diane always takes her purse.”
Daniel almost smiled.
Then noticed something underneath the driver's seat.
A photograph.
It showed Diane standing with Marcus Vale.
