Chapter 6 - THE FIRE
Flames turned the desert night orange.
Firefighters saved the house.
The garage was destroyed.
Investigators smelled accelerant.
Gaby watched from across the street.
“This is because of me.”
I turned toward her.
“No.”
“If I hadn't—”
“No.”
I pointed at the flames.
“This is because someone chose to set a fire.”
She stared at me.
“Don't carry their guilt for them.”
It was the first time she nodded without arguing.
The next morning, Tyler disappeared.
His apartment was empty.
His car was found near Sky Harbor.
Derek told investigators Tyler had stolen money.
Brenda's attorney called him a disgruntled employee.
Then a package arrived at Rebecca's office.
Inside was a photograph of a storage facility.
Unit 318 was circled.
On the back:
IF I DISAPPEAR, OPEN THIS.

Rebecca immediately contacted authorities.
What they found inside Unit 318 changed everything.
