Chapter 5 - THE MONEY BEHIND HIS NAMEThe next morning, Graham's lawyers discovered something even more disturbing.

Twelve years earlier, when Graham's first company was almost bankrupt, an anonymous investment fund had saved it.
Graham had always believed it was luck.
It wasn't.
The investment vehicle was connected to a dormant Bellamy family trust.
The same Bellamy trust connected to the mansion.
Graham stared at the documents.
"Who authorized the investment?"
His lawyer hesitated.
"We're still tracing the ownership structure."
"Trace faster."
Because suddenly Graham understood something terrifying.
His success might not have begun with him.
Someone had been watching.
Someone had believed in him before he had proven himself.
Someone had quietly pushed money into his company when he was vulnerable.
And whoever that person was had never asked for repayment.
Until now.
That evening, Graham received an envelope.
No return address.
Inside was a photograph.
His father stood beside August Bellamy.
On the back, four words had been written:
HE NEVER BETRAYED YOU.
Graham turned the photograph over again.
There was something else inside the envelope.
A key.
Old.
Brass.
And engraved with the initials:
May you like
D.V.
Daniel Voss.
