Chapter 3 - The BetrayalEvery employee was gathered in the ballroom.

Twenty-four people stood beneath enormous chandeliers while armed guards watched from every entrance.

Nathan slowly surveyed the room.

Sarah stood beside him.

"Don't look at their faces," she whispered.

"Look at their hands."

Nathan followed her gaze.

Gerald.

His trusted house manager.

A man who had served the Coleman family for twenty years.

Sarah noticed him repeatedly touching the inside pocket of his jacket.

Nathan's expression changed.

"Gerald."

The older man looked up.

"Yes, sir?"

"Give me your jacket."

Gerald froze.

Eventually, he removed it.

Nathan reached into the inner pocket.

A satellite phone emerged.

The room erupted in shocked whispers.

Nathan stared at the man who had once held his sons as newborns.

"Why?"

Gerald's eyes filled with tears.

"I never wanted to hurt them."

Nathan grabbed him by the collar.

"You let someone poison my children!"

"They took my daughter!"

Gerald broke down.

"They kidnapped Clara six months ago. They threatened to kill her if I didn't cooperate."

Nathan released him slowly.

"Who?"

Gerald whispered the name like it was a death sentence.

"The Morettis."

Victor Moretti.

Nathan's oldest enemy.

The man who wanted the Coleman empire.

And he had discovered the one weakness Nathan could never hide.

His children.

Nathan turned toward Sarah.

"They wanted to break me."

Sarah met his eyes.

"They underestimated you."

Nathan's voice became cold.

"Help me destroy them."

May you like

Sarah didn't blink.

"I'm in."
