Names.
Accounts.
Kill orders.
Corrupt officials.
Enough evidence to dismantle the network.
The problem was distribution.
Thomas had spent years unable to determine which government channels remained compromised.
Avery remembered the fight.
Briggs had attacked her before five hundred witnesses.
That was why the truth survived.
Black Meridian needed darkness.
So Avery decided to create witnesses.
Using an old emergency transmitter, they established contact with Fort Liberty.
Avery transmitted the archive.
Black Meridian attacked the station.
Briggs defended the doorway.
Vance was knocked down by a bullet striking her vest.
Hayes returned fire.
Then Captain Vale appeared.
Somebody had helped him escape custody.
He aimed at Thomas.
Briggs moved first.
The bullet struck Briggs’ shoulder.
Avery threw her knife into Vale’s gun hand.
Hayes tackled him.
Vance cuffed him.
The transmitter beeped.
UPLOAD COMPLETE.

Black Meridian’s greatest weapon—secrecy—was gone.
