Chapter 15 - The Unexpected LetterThen, one rainy Tuesday morning, a letter arrived.

There was no return address.

I opened it carefully.

The handwriting was Trevor's.

For several seconds, I simply stared at his name.

Then I read.

He didn't ask for money.

He didn't ask to return.

He didn't blame his mother.

Instead, he admitted something.

He had spent months believing I was the villain.

Until he finally realized that everyone had warned him.

His friends.

His coworkers.

Even his own conscience.

He had simply refused to listen.

He wrote that losing the villa had forced him to confront the person he had become.

I folded the letter.

I didn't forgive him immediately.

Forgiveness isn't a switch.

It's a road.

And sometimes, you don't know whether you are walking toward forgiveness or simply walking away from anger.

I placed the letter in a drawer.

May you like

Then I returned to my orchids.

Life continued.
