Chapter 14 - The Mansion Changes Hands Legally

Months later, the lender agreed to a settlement after the forged
authorization evidence was reviewed.
The improper mortgage was unwound through legal proceedings.
The trust’s ownership was confirmed.
Ryan became adult co-beneficiary and temporary co-trustee alongside an
independent professional.
Noah’s interest remained protected until adulthood.
Ryan could not sell the mansion alone.
That was intentional.
Matthew and Elena had designed it that way.
The house belonged to both brothers.
Not as a prize.
As a responsibility.
Diane and Greg moved out.
Ashley went with them.
Before leaving, she handed Noah a new backpack.
He almost refused.
Then she said:
“I’m sorry I kicked yours.”
Noah looked at her.
“Okay.”
Not forgiveness.
Not friendship.

Just acknowledgment.
