Chapter 12 - Evelyn's SecretEvelyn revealed everything.
Years earlier, Richard had discovered that his business partners were laundering money through shell companies.
Instead of walking away, he joined them.
At first, he told himself it was temporary.
Then the money grew.
So did the danger.
Evelyn discovered the truth.
She threatened to expose him.
Richard tried to convince her to remain silent.
She refused.
Then Vanessa appeared.
Vanessa had once been Richard's financial adviser.
But she wasn't loyal to him.
She had been secretly stealing from the organization.
When Richard discovered it, Vanessa threatened to expose everyone.
The fire was supposed to silence Evelyn.
Instead, Evelyn survived.
Vanessa secretly moved her to Facility Nine.
Why?
Because Evelyn possessed the only evidence capable of destroying the entire organization.
“The letters,” Evelyn whispered.
“They contain everything.”
Noah remembered the bundle in Vanessa's desk.
“But Vanessa has them.”
Evelyn looked at him.
“No.”

Her expression changed.
“Those aren't the letters you think they are.”
