Chapter 13 - The Second Set of LettersNoah realized the letters in Vanessa's desk were copies.
The originals were hidden somewhere else.
Evelyn had intentionally created false letters to mislead Vanessa.
The real evidence had been hidden inside something no one would suspect.
A children's storybook.
Lily remembered it immediately.
“The blue book.”
They returned to the mansion.
But Vanessa was waiting.
The front doors were wide open.
The house was silent.
Too silent.
Noah stepped inside.
The family portrait had been removed completely.
Behind it was a safe.
Vanessa appeared on the staircase.
“You found her.”
Noah froze.
Vanessa smiled.
“I knew you would.”
Then she revealed something devastating.
“I never wanted your mother dead.”
Evelyn stepped forward.
“You wanted the evidence.”
Vanessa nodded.
“But your father wanted something else.”
A gunshot suddenly echoed from upstairs.
Everyone turned.
Richard Carter stood at the end of the hallway.
May you like
Alive.
And holding a weapon.
