His blood ran cold.
“Mom?”
Lily began crying.
The voice came again.
“Follow the blue light.”
Noah searched the wall.
Behind an old painting, he found a narrow brass switch.
He pressed it.
The bookcase moved.
A hidden passage opened.
Cold air rushed into the bedroom.
Lily grabbed his hand.
“Are we really going inside?”
Noah looked into the darkness.
“I don't know.”
Then the voice whispered again.
“Noah… hurry.”
They entered.
The passage stretched beneath the mansion.
Old pipes ran along the ceiling.
Dust covered the floor.
But there were fresh footprints.
