A successful businessman.
A respected philanthropist.
A man who had helped Daniel financially after Emma was born.
Now every memory looked different.
Daniel couldn't believe it.
“He couldn't be involved.”
Marcus handed him a photograph.
Richard stood beside several people connected to the charity.
Daniel stared.
Then he noticed something.
The warehouse.
The same warehouse Rachel had been investigating.
Richard had been there.
“Why would he do this?”
Marcus answered quietly.
“Greed.”
Michael shook his head.
“Not just greed.”
Daniel looked at him.
“What then?”
“Power.”
They traveled to an abandoned factory.
Marcus had traced the phone.
Inside, they found evidence of the hidden operation.
But no children.
No Rachel.
Then Daniel heard something.
A faint cry.
He ran toward it.
Behind a locked door was a small boy.
Michael's son.
Alive.
Terrified.
Daniel broke the lock.
The boy threw himself into Michael's arms.
Michael collapsed, crying.
“I thought I lost you.”
The reunion lasted only seconds.
A loudspeaker crackled.
Richard's voice filled the factory.
“Daniel.”
Daniel froze.
“Leave the boy.”
“Where is my wife?”
Richard laughed.
“You still think this is about Rachel?”
Daniel clenched his fists.
Richard continued.
“It's about you.”

The lights suddenly went out.
Then the factory doors slammed shut.
