Chapter 33 - The ShotGlass exploded across the room.
David pulled Leah to the floor.
Miller shouted:
“DOWN!”
Another shot struck the wall.
Thomas disappeared through a side door.
David's mother screamed.
Miller rushed outside.
But the shooter was already gone.
David looked at Leah.
“Are you okay?”
She nodded.
“Maya?”
“She’s with the babysitter.”
David's face changed.
He grabbed his phone.
No answer.
He called again.
Still nothing.
Then a message appeared.
WE HAVE THE BABY.
David's heart stopped.
“No.”
He called the babysitter.
Straight to voicemail.
Leah grabbed his arm.
“David?”
He showed her the screen.
Her face collapsed.
“My baby.”
David ran outside.
Miller returned.
“Where are you going?”
“They have Maya.”
Miller grabbed his shoulder.
“Don't go alone.”
David looked at him.
“They took my daughter.”
His voice was calm now.
Terrifyingly calm.
“I will find her.”
Then another message appeared.
An address.
An abandoned warehouse.
